Get out your fork and knife for SF

SF Dine About Town is back! This year it runs from January 15-31. During this time, you can get great dining deals on many terrific restaurants through out the city. All participating restaurants charge a $21.95 prix fixe, three course lunch menu and $34.95 dinner menu. These are definitely not budget prices. But, most of these restaurants are very expensive and this is a way to sample their tasty fare without having to take out a second mortgage. Print out this list of participating restaurants from OpenTable and call ahead. Deals like this mean fierce competition for reservations.

Here are some of my top picks from the list:

1. Foreign Cinema- Right in the heart of the Mission, this open, airy and elegantly modern restaurant plays foreign classics on a large wall screen and serves up delightful California/Middle Eastern fare. Location: 2534 Mission St., Reservations: (415)-648-7600.

2. Bong Su- Delicious and very upscale Asian fusion restaurant downtown. Try the “Shaking Beef”! Location: 311 3rd St., Reservations: (415) 536-5800.

3. Chou Chou- Read our take on this establishment by Sharon Castellanos. They offer delicious French food, including Cassolettes and steamed mussels and are located near the neighborhood of Forest Hill. Location: 400 Dewey Boulevard, Reservations: (415) 242-0960.

This is a really fun way to discover some of San Francisco’s finest dining establishments. Start making your reservations now!
