I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for a long time and I am so nice and forgiving to restaurants and servers all the time. I will always give them the benefit of the doubt, so that’s what I’m going to do here.

I think The Front Street Cafe was just having a bad day when I chose to visit. My new little town of Issaquah, Washington is really charming and you can walk just about anywhere in just a few minutes. The Front Street Cafe is no different, but it is at the very far end of town. By the time I got there with my kids they were starving.

We were told to grab a table and she would be with us in a minute, she should have just taken our order then and there. We sat and waited, but she got busy in the front as the barista, so we didn’t see her for at least 5 minutes. When she finally came over, we were ready to order. If she would have told us when we ordered that the owner, the guy that brings the food, wasn’t there, but would be back shortly, I would have totally understood. Just let me know what’s going on, right!

The panini that I ordered, the hammish sammamish, was pretty tasty, but the soup needed to be hotter and stirred. The cheese in my broccoli cheese soup was still a little clumpy, I stirred it for a couple of minutes and it was fine.

My oldest son didn’t like his English Muffin Pizza, but he dug my sandwich. The sauce used is probably a little spicy for a kids “pizza”. The other kid had macaroni and cheese, which he loved, of course.

Once the owner actually got there with the food, it was alright, it was just the sitting there watching the girl make no move for the food and wondering why.

We’ll have to try it again, maybe on a slower weekday and there are already two people working when we walk in the door.
