When traveling with young children, you get familiar with one thing fairly quickly:  the search for a restaurant that serves something (anything!) they will eat.  My mother often recounts with horror the trip my family took to Hong Kong when I was 9.  All my sister and I ate the entire time was consomme and some meat dish she convinced us was actually McDonald’s hamburger.  It seems to be a travel rule:  the further away you venture, the more likely you will enthusiastically agree to your child enjoying Pringles and a Fanta for breakfast.

But every once in a while you find a place that is acceptable to your young’uns that also has a little something for you.  And while staying in Geneva, you could have knocked me over with a feather when I found that place inside the city’s largest department store.

Manora is the restaurant of the Manor Department Store.  This cafeteria style restaurant has all the french fries and pizza your kid could want – but also has a diverse selection of salads, pastas and fresh, hot food that will sate your more adult palate.

The food was fast, fresh and tasty.  And the selection was very impressive.  Add in the ability to get some wine with my meal (and the toy department a few floors below) and I think you could say the entire family was satisfied.
