Whether you are celebrating Valentine’s Day, an anniversary or other romantic special occasion, downtown Denver offers an array of romantic Denver restaurants to make your special day a Mile High romance.

Consider the following romantic restaurants in Downtown Denver:

ELWAY’S, Ritz-Carlton, Denver

Ladies, appeal to your sweetheart’s sports-loving side by dining at Downtown Denver ELWAY’S, the Ritz-Carlton, Denver’s signature restaurant. Named for the famed Denver Bronco quarterback and NFL Hall of Fame Inductee John Elway, ELWAY’s is a more than meal – it’s an over-the-top dining experience.

Sit back, order a glass of wine, and enjoy people-watching (and often local celebrities). Signature items include hand-cut, aged USDA prime steaks, lobster, salmon and fresh accompaniments.

Kobe Beef served sizzling on hot stone at Edge Restaurant & Bar

My favorite starter is the Mile-High sampler: Hot Tower and Cold Tower Rhode Island Calamari, Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Lamb Chop Fondue, Oysters, Dungeness Crab Cake, Steak Taco, Beef Tartar and Caviar. (BONUS: Complimentary valet parking for ELWAY’S.)

Restaurant Kevin Taylor, Hotel Teatro

Find the melody of romance at award-winning Restaurant Kevin Taylor located in the luxury boutique Hotel Teatro, named by MSN.com as one of the 10 most romantic hotels in the nation.

Award-winning chef and native Coloradoan, Kevin Taylor provides a romantic favorite for Denver locals. For a truly romantic experience, allow Chef Taylor to wine and dine you and your sweetheart by choosing the seasonal tasting menu, including fine dining favorites like Duck Confit &amp, Foie Gras Terrine, Spiced Pumpkin Risotto with Saffron and Scottish Salmon (plus more).

EDGE Restaurant & Bar, Four Seasons Hotel Denver

The Four Seasons Hotel Denver is home to EDGE Restaurant & Bar, a downtown Denver neighborhood steakhouse, bringing Colorado’s best local ingredients to the table for a “chic farm-to-table food experience.” It’s hip and trendy, stylish and sleek, and the perfect romantic setting for any celebration.

Start at the EDGE bar for a pre-dinner glass of wine; choosing will be difficult as EDGE offers 50 wines by the glass. Order a Kobe slider as an appetizer. Then move into the sleek dining room for a wood-grilled Colorado-ranched steak dinner, but you won’t feel limited.

In addition to Colorado beef, the dinner menu offers soups, salads, seafood, venison sausage, wood-grilled steaks and a collection of classic sides with a progressive twist, like truffled mac-and-cheese and buffalo brisket hash. Save room for their house-made EDGE Chocolate Truffles! (Bonus: Complimentary valet parking for guests).

Ship Tavern, The Brown Palace

The Ship Tavern serves the best prime rib in downtown Denver.

Casual dining within the upscale Brown Palace Hotel is what you’ll discover at the Ship Tavern, and you can’t help but feel romantic when you consider how many couples have dined here before you.

Opened in 1934, Ship Tavern has maintained its rustic nautical décor, so much so that you almost feel the salty breeze of the ocean. One of three restaurants located within the historic Brown Palace Hotel in downtown Denver, the Ship Tavern is laid back, yet upscale dining. Walk into the pub-style restaurant, complete with a ship mast and crow’s nest and order some of the best prime rib in town.

Downtown Denver’s Maggiano’s Little Italy

Romance doesn’t have to come with a heart-breaking price tag. Downtown Denver’s Maggiano’s Little Italy is at the top of my list. Family-style Southern Italian cuisine with generous portions and its Denver Pavilions location is just the start of why this is one of my dependable and budget-friendly Denver restaurants.
