Old-Fashioned Diner at Denver’s Red Rooster Cafe
There’s something about an old-fashioned Colorado diner that gets your taste buds salivating, and that’s what you’re in for when you stop at North Denver’s the Red Rooster Café. Located near the Denver Merchandise Mart, Red Rooster Café will have you reminiscing starting with the piping hot, over-sized portions to the red vinyl bar stools at the counter.
I admit, the Red Rooster Café is off-the-beaten-path for me, but before attending an event at the Denver Merchandise Mart, we were hankering for an old-fashioned breakfast dive restaurant. As we all know, home cooking joints are often the best finds!
On the south side of Washington at the corner of 58th, we pulled into the mini-shopette and discovered Red Rooster Café. It was a Saturday late morning around 11:00 am, and the place was packed. We took that as a good sign and weren’t disappointed.
The staff was southern friendly — albeit, a bit seasoned as if they’ve worked here since its opening, but hey, good service is priceless! And Red Rooster Café was clean. Wait staff and busers made quick work of cleaning tables. Read More »
