What’s more Spanish than sitting at a crowded bar eating tapas on a Saturday afternoon? To indulge in this experience, head to La Taberna de la Ronda Cervecería in the center of the city and order a plate of patatas bravas!
La Taberna de la Ronda Cervecería is a diamond in the rough considering where it’s located and the mediocre restaurants that surround it. La Taberna de la Ronda Cervecería is right around the corner from El Corte Ingles off Barcelona’s most important hub and the core of downtown, Plaça Catalunya. Most restaurants in this area are not good because they don’t have to be. There is constant traffic in this area from tourists and locals who are going shopping or catching the train. Many cafes and eateries here are bland or expensive. Or both.
But La Taberna de la Ronda Cervecería is an exception, and therefore full on weekends. Go early to get a table or a seat at the long bar. The staff move fast and shout out to each other customer’s orders; ‘Two beers over here!’, ‘Give me a plate of ensaladilla!’ and so forth. It’s a bit overwhelming, but fun at the same time. One thing is for sure, you will not have to set off a flare to get served in La Taberna de la Ronda Cervecería!
