XXX Warning

We moved to this great little town last month and I haven’t visited all the restaurants within walking distance, but I’m getting close. Last week we visited XXX Rootbeer while my mother-in-law was in town.

The atmosphere at the XXX Rootbeer is fun. It’s a real family affair. From the hostess to the the 8 year-old busser, they’re all family.

I’ve heard mixed reviews about the hamburgers at this place and I think it landed as a solid 5.

Our server was a little slow and she was chewing gum. Yikes! She ended up being okay, but some of the other servers seemed a little more hospitable. They weren’t just order takers if you know what I mean.

The kid meals were huge, the boys could have totally split the kids meal. It wasn’t a good enough deal for only $7 bucks. We spent $14.00 to get one burger eaten, so of course, too much money for too little results.

The other burgers were all priced about $7, $8 or $9 dollars.

So about the food. The burger patties themselves don’t have any flavor. They taste like frozen patties that they didn’t even throw any seasoning on. The fixings were really good. I liked the chili and the bun, but the patty I could have done without. I think that’s what I would do next time.

Whit and his mom both felt the same way about the food, but we all agreed on the fact that the shakes and malts are fantabulous.

Would I go again? Sure, it’s a great place to take out of town guests an catch the latest car show. It’s a little piece of Issaquah history.
