It has never been a particularly memorable restaurant, other than the rain lamp they used to have in the'60s as you walked in (now gone, and the interior is extensively remodeled), but the food and decor have always been above average, and still are, and a meal there is always pleasant. more on Yahoo! I first started eating at Jamar's in 1969, and it's still around (in 2005), which is saying a lot in itself, since very few restaurants from the '60s still exist in San Diego County. I'd say its age is now its most outstanding attribute.
