Great food marred by average service

We just ate at Bouchon for our big 25 year wedding anniversary. The food was outstanding - I had a fantastically prepared rack of lamb and my wife had the ahi. sporadically excellent, but inconsistent and expensive

At its best, the food is top-notch, but some of the dishes are prosaic for the price. The bouillabaise is excellent, as are the salads. The wine list, service, and atmosphere are outstanding. The food is uniformly exquisite, wine selection good and the service is perfect: attentive, not intrusive; personable intelligent waiters who really know the food and wines.
