Quality/Quantity vs. Cost
This place is far out of line in its prices and they do not correlate with the quality of their food. I have had far better food in other big cities for a more reasonable price.

Remarkable, innovative and world-class cuisine at an astronomical price.
I had read that Alinea had been named Gourmet Magazine's "Best restaurant in the USA", so when my wife asked what I wanted for my birthday, I just couldn't help myself. This is the best restaurant in Chicago. The service and food cannot be beat. You have to be open to trying food that is different and that you think you might not like.
