This ferry will take you to Star Island, along the way treating you to a first-rate narrated tour of the surrounding area. Views will be incredibly scenic, and passengers will most definitely want to bring a camera along. The trip takes about an hour, but once you're on Star Island you'll consider it well worth it. This beautiful little island is part of the Isles of Shoals and has quaint walking paths, abundant nature, and great picnicking opportunities. It's suggest you pack a nice lunch, as there aren't any formal dining options once you get to the island. Also, get your tickets in advance as they sell out early.

Portsmouth has so many good restaurants it’s hard to resist having a nice lunch in town, taking the cruise, doing a little shopping & sightseeing, then having a nice dinner. more on TripAdvisor
