We struck gold

Timbers won't get a lot of points for atmosphere. The food is another matter. The portions are generous and the food is well beyond small-town standards. The baked brie was delicious, the salad was well beyond shredded lettuce, the mashed sweet potato was light and good. Be warned -- the chicken ... a user of Restaurantica. Don't expect L.A. chic -- Red River started as a mining town, and The Timbers is in keeping with this history. The decor is sparse, but the service and food are well beyond ordinary.
