Food that is worth a 3 hour drive...

One of those lifetime experiences...
Amazingly fresh ingredients, which makes sense giving the fact that the herbs were picked hours before the meal had started. The current service was entitled "The Chambers of the Sea" including classic sea urchin roe and an amazing stinging nettle and lovage soup. The chef of Herbfarm, Jerry Traunfeld, has been with the restaurant for nearly 15 years, a rarity in the field, and his methods of infusing herbs into dishes produce incredibly food-orgasm-induced moments. The staff is very professional, well mannered, and would be intimidating with their knowledge if it weren%rsquot for their offsetting charm. One amazing sommelier, Christine Mayo, guided me through their humongous wine list (I am not kidding on this point, its 150-some pages long).
